Flonase

Uses

Flonase Nasal Spray comes in the form of an atomizing metering spray that is used to relieve symptoms of nasal congestion, sneezing and itchy or runny nose, topically.

Dosage Instruction

Flonase works best when it's used on a regular basis. For best results, sue once a day every day, or as prescribed by your physician. For adults, two spray dosages of 50 mcg each in each nostril once a day, is sufficient. This brings the total dosage a day to 200 mcg. A 100 mcg dose given in the morning and evening every day is also effective. After a few days of relief, this dosage can be decreased to one dosage spray in each nostril once a day (100 mcg in total) to maintain the clear nostrils. Generally, regular use according to schedule will result in fewer symptoms.

Warnings

Flonase tends to inhibit the body ability to fight infections. If you are already suffering from a bacterial, viral or fungal infection of any sort, inform your doctor. You may be advised not to use the spray in your infected condition. Flonase Nasal Spray is an FDA pregnancy category C medication, which means that its affects on an unborn fetus are not fully ascertained. You are therefore advised not to use this medication if you are pregnant. Flonase's effects on breast milk too have not been properly researched. If you are a nursing mother, consult your doctor before using Flonase. Children below the age of 4 are not advised to use Flonase Nasal Spray.
