Esgic Plus
Uses
Esgic Plus is a pain reliever that is used to relieve the contractions associated with tension headaches.
Dosage instructions
Esgic Plus comes in the form of capsules and tablets. Take one or two tablets every four hours, or as directed by your physician. If each tablet contains 325 or 500 mg of acetaminophen, don’t take more than six tablets a day.
Warnings
Dependency on the drug is a very real possibility. If you notice that you're not seeing as much benefit from your tablets as you used to in the beginning, or if you find headaches are reappearing within 24 hours of your last tablet, or headaches continue for several days or begin to occur every day, you could be becoming dependant on the medication. Don’t increase your dosage on your own to increase its efficacy. Dosages must never be increased without consulting the doctor.
Missed dosage
Follow your doctor’s prescribed dosage schedule stringently. If however, you miss a dose, don’t take a double dose to make up for it. Take the medication as soon as you remember about the missed dose, but if it’s too close to the next dose, just leave that dose and move on to the next one.
Side effects
If you notice hives, swelling of the lips, tongue and face, bleeding sores on lips; chest pain; fever, muscle cramps, reddened or scaly skin; shortness of breath, breathing, wheezing; skin rashes, itching, sores, or ulcers inside the mouth, confusion, or sore throat, consult your doctor immediately. Mild mental depression and unusual levels of excitement may also be seen.
Storage
Store away from heat, light and damp places. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid keeping in places where there are high levels of dampness, like the kitchen or the bathroom.
Overdose
If you suspect that you have ingested more of this medication than your normal dosage, you are at risk for unconsciousness or even death. Never take this medication along with CNS Depressants or alcohol.
