Elimite
Uses
Elimite is a scabicide that is used for the treatment of Scabies. It works to cure the condition by killing the scabies mite.
Dosage instructions
Elimite has to be massaged all over the body and left for a period of 8 to 14 hours. Cover the whole body, including the soles of the feet with the cream. A quantity of 30 grams should be enough to cover the body. Do not apply to open cuts, as this may cause too much of the medicine to be absorbed into the body. Elimite can also be transmitted through breast milk, and therefore, should be avoided if you’re nursing.
Warnings
Elimite should not be used on the nose, eyes and mouth. If the cream does enter these parts of the body, wash it off immediately. Avoid all sexual contact till the scabies has cleared. If you are allergic to any of the ingredients in Elimite, do not use this medication. Also, if you are already taking some prescription or non prescription medicine, or herbal supplements, do not use Elimite.
Missed dosage
Missed doses are not likely, because only one application of Elimite is required per day.
Side effects
Side effects with the use of Elimite are quite rare. If, however, you notice any symptoms like redness of the skin or swelling, burning sensation, itchiness, numbness or tingling or skin rashes, notify your physician immediately. If you notice any severe side effects like hives, swelling of the tongue, lips and face and other allergic reactions, or breathing difficulties, discontinue use, and seek medical attention.
Storage
Elimite should be stored at a temperature between 59 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
